A Little Box of Sunshine

Last week my younger brother and his family were all sick. Week before that they found out that my brothers job may change, not exciting... they live so far away {Virginia} that I thought I needed to do something for them. So, I did what I always do when I need to come up with something fun...I head to my pinterest board of Prizes!

Happy Money Saver featured this adorable Box of Sunshine and I figured it was perfect!

{Original Posting}

I picked up a cute craft box at Hobby Lobby, they had lots of different shapes and sizes to choose from. I chose the large oval one and it was $3.99 and I made sure to use this weeks 40% off coupon!

Clear Cello treat bags are perfect for re-packaging the sweets and some loose goodies. A few sheets of scrapbook paper for the packaging and stickers to label the top of the box.

I made the rounds, drug store and cracker barrel and picked up all of the yellow candies I could find. Some of the packing wasn't cute and didn't mesh with my sunshine theme, this is where the treat bags and the scrapbook paper comes in.

Now the nephew is 3 almost 4 and with being a nurse I just can't send him a box full of sweets;) So I made sure that there were squirt toys for bath time, dino stickers, balloons and a silly straw. Daddy gets silly string and that weird insect thing that lights up, mommy gets pinwheel and cute picture holder.

All finished and boxed up! Can't wait to send it in the mail tomorrow! Hope they love it!

  6. Such a cute idea. I made a sunshine box one time for a friend's brother who had been in the hospital. My box wasn't that sturdy though and I wish I had more yellow items to include. I might have to pin this idea so I remember to use a better box. :)
