Where We Call Home

I'm a born and raised Texas girl with the extent of that year and a half on the West Coast. I came back and that's what counts.

We call Austin home now. We've been here for 2.5 years and can't think of a better place to be. It's the best of everything, and it's Texas of course! Here are all the reasons that I think you should move visit Austin;)

Austin

#1 Zilker Park's Barton Springs:
This is Hubs favorite place. No kidding the man swims daily come rain or shine. The Springs are beautiful, natural spring fed swimming area that remains 68 degrees year round. It is definitely a must do when you are in town.

#2 Jo's Coffee
With their iconic "I love you so much" graffiti and a nice cup of Jo. This is a great place to sit and people watch and there are always fun people to watch along the South Congress.

#3 Bat Watching: Congress Street Bridge
We have yet to make it out to the bridge at just the right time. Nightly from April to October the bats fly out at dusk and are quite a sight.

#4 Homeslice Pizza: South CongressAfter trying this our first week in town on a friend recommendation, it has continued to be a weekly tradition for the past 2 years. They have the most amazing pizza and subs. There is always an awesome mix of music playing, booths are great for large groups, or enjoy a seat at the counter and watch you pizza made. Kids get a plate of pizza dough to play with while mom and dad can enjoy a glass of wine or a cold one.

Make sure that while you are here you stop by our awesome mural  and take you souvenir post card photos.

Things you should know about me if we are going to be Bloggy BFF's

Chrissy over at Boerman Ramblings wrote an fun post this week about, well  herself. She called it,  "Things you should know about me if we are going to be Bloggy BFF's" which got me thinking. I totally need to write one of these. I however have some of the same fears that she did, will people still want to read what I write after they know me better?! Well here goes...

I'm a Pediatric Nurse, with a secret desire to be a stay at home housewife.
It took hubs 6 years to "put a ring on it"
I like infomercial products, You should see my awesome duster that came in the mail the other day

I love Jesus with all of me
I eat cold Pizza for breakfast, I think it might even be better this way.
I'm almost 30 years old and have never drank a cup of coffee..its gross.
I yell when I am upset, like crazy yell, but I prefer to call it speaking loudly.
I will remember EVERYTHING you say to me that is mean... for years
I have a few very best friends from different times in my life.
I am secret eater {like when stressed, I can down a whole box of cookies} I'm working on this.
I only wash my hair 4-5 times a week

I'm unsure about being 30 and not knowing what else I should do in life.
I do not eat: fish,tomatoes, organ meat, green olives, cooked carrots
I consider fruit roll-ups as a fruit serving for the day
I go to the movies by myself on the weekends when hubs is at work, he doesn't like to go.
I can read a mindless romance novel in a day, or stay up all night to finish it.
I try not to say I "love" anything other than God, my husband and my family {it's harder than you think, try it for a day}
I have an unhealthy obsession with giveaways, I must enter! {I win a lot:)}

I want a BumpIt for my hair { I love this look, thanks Snookie}
I bite my nails
I Start my day reading my Bible and praying
I pray a lot, all day but to myself and RARELY out loud
My husbands loves when I try and impersonate Saturday Night Live characters, which I only do for him.
I hate that I was raised in a church that made it taboo to raise hands in praise. I struggle with this still and it makes me sad.
Hubs and I sleep in different rooms {I can sleep through a hurricane and him not so much}
I'm very self conscious about reading out loud in front of people
I secretly miss California, but don't want to move so far from parents again.
I haven't used my dishwasher in years, except to make sure it worked when we bought our house.
I make children's clothes, yet have no children.
I try and respond to every comment I receive, they make me so happy
I plugged my TV in for the first time in 2 years last weekend to watch a DVD {mom brought the DVD player with her to my house}
 I feel blessed to have gained 82  94 blog followers in less than 2 months, and can't believe anyone actually cares what I have to say.

Is there something I forgot?
Did you want to know something else?
Ask me and I'll do a follow up post.
Also comment and let me know 3 things about you.
