P90X?

So maybe right now, I'm not loving my life as much as usual. I decided to try out the P90X workout. Yesterday was exhausting and I felt sick 40 minutes into the 57 mins and had to stop. Didn't wake up as sore as I was expecting today and got right into day 2. Today was Cardio X and it felt good, challenged me not only on speed, agility and balance but it incorporated things I already new how to do as well. So I'm not going to post before pics for everyone to see, who wants to see that?!?! Maybe when there are these awesome after pics, I might give you a peak at the comparison. Wish me luck:) Pin It

BMT Graduation

This past weekend my family attended my youngest brother graduate from Air Force BMT. My brother Sam and his wife Dee along with my nephew Atticus flew in from Virginia were they are stationed with the Air Force at Langley AFB. We hadn't seen them since February when they moved. Along with Bill and myself, mom and dad were there and Jack's girl friend Rachel flew in from Kansas were she is going to school. Last year when my brother Sam graduated I was in NY working and wasn't able to come home for the ceremonies, makes me sad that I missed them. We had a great time! Airman's Run, Coin Ceremony, and Graduation. Weekend packed full of fun and family time. Loved getting to see everyone and hang out. Pin It

So much has happened...

I can't believe that I have been slacking and haven't blogged since May! So much has happened...In June Bill excepted a new job in Austin and we made the move to our first place of our own since getting married. We have a great apartment in South Austin and love are loving the city. With the move I was able to adjust my job with the hospital in Odessa and now only work a few days a month. Elle Dee Designs is now my full time job and I am busy getting ready for a full schedule of shows for the Fall. I had the chance to return to NY for a month of working at Timber Lake again in July and part of August. Started working on my BSN in June and will be done in early December. Seems like so much in such a small time. Next week we are all headed to San Antonio to see Jack, my youngest brother graduate from Air Force Basic Training. Sam, Dee and Atticus are even making the trip from Virginia where they are currently stationed with the Air Force at Langley. I promise to be a better blogger. Pin It

Where I've been...

So, I haven't posted in FOREVER!! I have been busy and every time I sit down at the computer it is with a list of things to look up, emails to return and or course Facebook always distracts me. I have however been reading all of the blogs that I follow and let me just say, I am so impressed not only do this people blog daily, there are pictures too. I am going to try and do better, I promise.

Back in February I tore a muscle in my shoulder at work, I was out of work for 2 months and was going a little stir crazy at home. I realized that I had 9 friends pregnant at the same time, so I decided to get out my brand new sewing machine, thanks mom and dad, and get to work. What to make, What to make? That was the question. I decided that I would make a tutu attached to a onesie for a friend in California, she was having her first baby, sweet baby girl Sydney. Now the entire time we lived in California this friend teased me about "how you do things in Texas" I can't help it that we love fluff and bling and hair bows the size of our baby's head! I thought this would really get her giggling, a tutu for a newborn. After much frustration it was complete and looked precious. My mom shows this to a friend who then asks me to make her a tutu for her niece, and you know where it goes from here.

I have had too much fun making hair bows, onesies, blankets, burp clothes, paci clips, and soooo much more. Bill convinces me that I need a website, so I build this homemade website, and people are actually going there and ordering things!! I couldn't believe it. My brother Jack designs a logo for the company, Dad convinces me to branch out and try selling on etsy.com (my newest addiction) and mom is major quality control and decision making assistant. Bill listens to me talk way too much about hair bows, and pettiskirts and little ballet shoes. What an awesome husband! We have an awesome new website, have been able to expand into carrying tons of amazing items. I can't do everything so I have started connecting with women all of the country who make all kinds of adorable items. Everything we sell on the website is handmade with the exception of the headbands and knit hats.

We have recently started attending the downtown farmers market on Saturday and have signed up to be vendors at a few craft shows coming up.

I hope this explains why I haven't been blogging:) I will try better and I have started a blog for the company as well. I hope I can keep up with two better than I did one. Oh, and I went back to work and finished the Chemistry class I was taking this semester!

If it isn't one thing...

It's another. After being home and sick in bed for several days, I was finally feeling better and got back into the hustle and bustle of work and school. Last week at work I picked up a baby out of a playpen and torn a muscle in my shoulder. After a late night in the ER and a few days of rest, I went to the doctor thinking I was going to get cleared to return to work. The doctor not only wouldn't clear me for work, but said that I had to be off for another week and then follow up with him again. I see the doctor on Tuesday and have no idea what to expect. I am still having quite a bit of pain and can't really lift anything with that arm. It starts to ache after typing or writing for long periods of time. So that's where I am, I miss all my friends at work, but am trying to get lots of rest and take advantage of the time to study. I'll keep everyone updated. Pin It

Sick...

This is the part of my life that I don't love...being sick. I tried to think of the last time I was actually sick and felt this bad. I can't remember. I have felt terrible for two days now. I stayed in bed almost all day today and when I did get up it was to make it to the recliner. That is as far as I got all day. Even more than being miserable from being sick is Bill is at work. Amazing how misery loves company, I wish he was here to talk to and be with, but I would hate for him to get sick too. Mom took great care of me and made me chicken noodle soup. I favorite sick food. I just want to feel better, and soon. Really what it boils down to is, I'm too busy to get sick. Pin It

Sewing:)

For Christmas all the girls in the family received sewing machines. I have been wanting a new sewing machine that was all mine for some time now. I picked out a few patterns and bought a couple of yards of fabric and have ventured off into the world of sewing. I love it so far and I haven't even used the machine yet. Cutting out fabric, measuring and pinning. Now my mom looks at me and says, " maybe I'll just make curtains..." I am working on two aprons, and while there are a lot of steps to it, I am loving it. Hopefully all of my machine sewing knowledge will come back to me easily. Stay tuned for the finished product. Pin It
