Beauty Full Moments: Fancy Friday Link Up

It's that time of month again...no, not that time! It's time for the LoveFeast Table Fancy Friday Link up!
Since Mother's Day is just around the corner I don't think they could have come up with a better topic.

A time with or memory of, your mom, where life was Beauty Full

I have so many amazing memories of my mom that it is hard to think of one thing to focus on for this post. She is an amazing women, she is smart, funny, creative, inspirational, loving, Godly and happy.

I hope that one day I will be able to be as amazing of a mother as she has been and show my child the love that she has shown me and my brothers over our lifetime.

Recently we spent the weekend together. It was filled with laughing of silly jokes that hubs told us, old stories and random tid bits.

We stayed up late watching DVDs, well she did, I always fall asleep a few minutes in .

We went and got Beauty Full with awesome Pedicures. We laughed some more, jokes about her toes looking like Easter Eggs, and her color choice being on the fine line of an "Old Lady" color.

We went to the movies and saw a chick flick and giggled when women in the audience hooted and hollered for a grown up shirtless Zac Efron.  Some girls are too silly.

We shopped for a dress for her, one that said, " Hey! I'm the mother of the groom" but again didn't look like an old lady dress.  {we found the perfect dress at the 2nd store}

The trend that I see when I spend time with my mom, laughter. We laugh a lot, we enjoy each others company. Not say we don't have our moments, but the good always out numbers the bad. She is a Beauty Full women inside and out.

Tell me about a moment you had with your mother that was Beauty Full.

Dear Tax Office,
Interesting, very interesting. Now that we have lived in the house for a year and worn all the new off of it you think its worth MORE money. Show me someone willing to pay that and I'll consider the tax increase.

1LW: Postive

It's be an amazing week...I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

via

Most of you would read that and wonder why I wouldn't just be happy that things are going good. I am happy that things are going good, and I know that having that good outlook is what keeps them level. The other thing I know is that when things are good, when we get comfortable with that Satan takes hits at our well being. I know that there are challenges on the horizon, I know that there will be things to trip me up in the future.

Business is good great.
Family is amazing.
Husband, well I couldn't ask for better.
Work is full of opportunity.
Walk is thriving, I'm growing daily.

So when the other shoe falls, I'm going to come back and read this post. I'm going to remember that God is in control and He will guide and protect me. Know that Satan attacks when we are doing good, walking in the Light and know that I can come through anything....Because

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

and He says...

Come to Me, all you who are weary and weighed down with heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in spirit. Indeed, you will surely find rest in Me! My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

With all of that on my side I can't help but enjoy the good and keep being positive. Continue to smile, say nice things, not gossip and not judge, anyone.

Everyone loves a project that uses Mod Podge! Remember the old book I had so much trouble ripping up for this project? Well here it is back for a second round. I picked up a peice on compressed wood from Joann's. You can use a scrap plywood or what ever is laying around. I wanted mine to be light weight so the $4 was worth it.

I torn our the pages I would need and layed it out to make sure I had enought to cover the entire piece and see how they would all need to be layed out.

I started in one corner and generously brushed on the Mod Podge. Laying down one page at a time.

After all of the pages where down I allowed the Mod Podge to dry. I made sure that there aren't any page corners sticking up so that the next step goes smoothly.

Everytime I make a trip to Lowes I rummage through the clearance paints. A few weeks ago I picked up a few neutral colors in the sample size for $1 each! This is the first time I have used them.

I lightly painted on a thin coat of paint over the pages to give the background a textured feeling.

While the paint is drying I got out my craft Atlas, who's sole purpose is to be cut up for craft projects. I found the cities that my brother and soon to be SIL met in, will get married in, and will live. I use a simple heart template to trace the cities.

Now that the paint is completely dry I applied a small amount of the Mod Podge to the back of the hearts and sest them in place amoungst the page.

Using a permenate marker I labeled each of the hearts.

Give the marker a minute or two to really set, then apply a thin coat of Mod Podge over the entire surface and let dry completely.

I plan of finding a cute decorative  frame to place the piece in and will paint it white so that the maps have som contrast. Can wait to show this to my SIL!
